FAQ

Birthday party questions

Everything parents ask before booking a birthday party at RunRec.

Book Now
How many kids can come?

The package sets the headcount. Hero covers 4 to 16 guests, Super Hero covers 17 to 25, and Super Hero Fun covers 26 or more. Pick the one that matches your guest list.

What ages are the parties for?

Ages 3 and up. The courts and the games stay the same; the coordinators change what they run. A group of five-year-olds gets relay games and shooting contests. A group of fifteen-year-olds gets a dodgeball tournament and the sound system.

How long is a party?

Two hours for Hero and Super Hero, three hours for Super Hero Fun. That is your time in the building, start to finish.

What sports can the kids play?

Basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickleball, dodgeball, cornhole and hula hoops, all included in every package.

What do the two coordinators do?

Your two party coordinators run the whole party: white-glove service for parents, and the ultimate fun leaders for the kids.

Can we bring our own cake and food?

Bring any food you like. There is no fridge on site, and we ask you to avoid wet or messy foods. Allergies are the responsibility of the host family, as RunRec does not serve the food.

Can we bring decorations?

Yes, bring your own. We only turn away anything inappropriate or not a fit for our facility.

What is in the goodie bags?

Every guest takes home a RunRec mini ball, a keychain or lanyard, and a water bottle. You are welcome to add your own treats, toys or prizes. The birthday child gets all of that plus a limited edition RunRec basketball and a drawstring bag.

Do parents stay during the party?

You are welcome to stay, and there is space to sit off the court. The coordinators run the party either way, so staying is a choice and not a job.

What should kids wear and bring?

Clothes they can run in, clean indoor shoes, and a water bottle. Indoor shoes are the only footwear allowed on the hardwood, so ask guests to change when they arrive. There is no water fountain in the building.

Is the facility indoors?

Fully indoors and climate controlled. A February party and a July party run exactly the same way.

What if we need to change the date or cancel?

Need a new date? Let us know at least 5 days ahead and we will rebook you. Inside 5 days, changes are only made for extreme weather or at RunRec management's discretion. Cancellations are at RunRec management's discretion.

Where are you and is there parking?

283 Northfield Dr E, Unit 13, Waterloo. Parking is free and on site, in the lot to the left of the building.
